PLAN FIRST

Check the platform before selecting the number.

  1. Read the platform’s current verification requirements.
  2. Confirm that you will control the number for the account’s expected lifetime.
  3. Set up the platform’s supported recovery options and keep the material private.

Do not submit a password, one-time code or recovery key to this workshop.

Discord verification

Discord’s guidance says that VoIP, burner and landline numbers cannot be used for its phone verification. Use its support guidance if a number is rejected.

Steam account access

Steam provides official help for its mobile authenticator and for recovering access. Review those options before replacing a number or device linked to your account.

“I have checked where the official recovery instructions are and where my own recovery material is stored.”

That is enough for a planning note. A reminder of a process is different from a copy of the material that unlocks an account.
